I am really glad that I found this forum. This is our first pregnancy, I went for my first ultrasound on Monday and I was supposed to be 8 weeks 2 days based on my last period date. I haven't had any vomiting morning sickness just a little nausea and other signs like fatigue, sore breasts. When we went to the doctor she said that when she did my exam that my uterus did not feel the right size for me to be 8 weeks. She did my ultrasound and she said that she saw a sac but there was nothing inside of it. I really don’t feel like she looked good enough, she was very quick. She sent me for blood work and my hCG level was 40,000. When they called me back with my lab results the nurse said that MAYBE I am just not as far along as they thought. I am going back for more blood work tomorrow to see if my hCG had doubled or not. I have not had any signs of miscarriage, no blood no nothing. She told me that I should expect bleeding and if I don't discard it on my own then I will have to have a D&C done. I also have another appointment to see my doctor next Wednesday, before we go the route of a D&C I will definitely seek a 2nd opinion. I am very confused and I would like to hear more about other people that have been in my situation. How was your hCG level when the doctor told you there was an empty sac?
