This is such a helpful site, i wish i had found it a few wks ago. I also had low hcg levels, only 3600 at what we thought to be 6wks after LMP. 2 wks later, i started bleeding with clotting and ran to the ER where I was examined and the dr was positive that i wasn't dilating - cervix was still closed and the uterus felt pregnant (we had some concerns as to whether it was ectopic). Blood tests showed the hcg at only 4500. the dr was concerned at this point and called for an ultrasound which revealed an empty sac. i was told it was a complete miscarriage and sent home. i had no cramping at all and the bleeding continued for the next 4 days, until finally, the sac was expelled. we would have been 8wks. i was told that the baby might have stopped developing 2 - 3 wks ago, which may account for the hcg not rising and now my body is just recognising the loss and dealing with it. it was our 1st so it was pretty devastating to know that at the time we were just getting excited and telling our families, it was already over. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you going through loss. I hope you go encouraged knowing that (a) you are able to conceive (b) this was not your fault, just probably a feutus that your body recognised as not viable to begin with. To all those with more positive stories, I truly wish you all the best the remainder of your pregancy - healthy mother, healthy babies. All the best to those of us trying again. When it finally happens, hang in there, ladies, don't be afraid with the next pregnacy. We'll do fine - that's the approach I am choosing to take.
