I am currently experiencing low-rising HCG levels. No bleeding, cramping, etc., thank goodness, just low levels. I'm glad I found this board. I've had two miscarriages before. I am praying really hard that this baby makes it.

Also == FYI == some of you have asked for statistics on abnormal HCG levels that make it to healthy childbirth. I found a medical study that followed 158 pregnancies. Of those, 22 (13.9%) had low-rising HCG levels. Of those 22 with low-rising levels, 16 (72.7%) showed viability on an ultrasound at 8 weeks, but did not make it through the end of the first trimester. There was no comment on the remaining 6 pregnancies with low-rising HCG, but given the fact that they were studying what happens after a positive ultrasound occurs, I have to assume they delivered normally.

SO... if that is the case, then about 27.3% of pregnancies with low-rising HCG that have a viable ultrasound at 8 weeks produce full-term babies.

Read the study's findings yourself at (http://tinyurl.com/o4r7n). Be warned, however: the conclusion these researchers drew from these numbers was that people with low HCG levels "should not be given an optimistic prognosis."
