For all those who have read my previous posts here's an update. My son was born (BY PLANNED CSection), 5 days before his due date on July 17th. After having kidney stone attacks, having a stent put in and just being SO big from being pregnant, of course I would go almost full term and then have a C-Section. Now, my son is almost 8 weeks old and I still have the stent in and the kidney stone. Because I had a CSection, they had to wait to let that heal before they did anything. I went to the Urologist today and he looked at my xrays and said that the stone that I had is now about 10 mm (it grew from 6mm) and it is stuck in the stent. There also is ANOTHER stone in the right kidney, which is 7 mm. Figures! So, now I have to go in for a CAT Scan and then they'll figure out what to do. It looks like they'll have to blast the new stone and possibly put in another temporary stent. The old stone will be blasted but the large pieces will be able to be picked out without any pain.

To all of you who are suffering from this, I sympathize. Don't worry about the drugs that they give you. I took one at night before going to bed until I delivered. My baby had NO side effects at all. I was also taking Macrobid and Pyridium, periodically. As for the stent, that is a pain, especially when going to the bathroom. The pain subsides though. And to be honest, that beats being rushed to the emergency room for the pain that the kidney stones caused. Hope this helps ease you a little bit.
