I am pregnant with my third child. I had stones with my other two children. With my first child, I had a horrible attack in my doctors office when I was 26 weeks. After two days in the hospital on morphine, my urologist put a stent in. He had told me that if they didn't, I would have become septic and lost the baby. Stents are awful - very painful. Delivery was a piece of cake compared to the stent. It hurt to walk, sit, stand, anything! I was induced at 37 weeks.
My second child came with two stones, which I felt pain from starting at 26 weeks. I was put on percoset or darvoset for 8 weeks before I was induced at 37 weeks. My doctor couldn't believe that lighting had struck twice! I passed the stones while I was delivering!
I am now pregnant with my third. My friends think I am nuts. But, when you have these children, going through all of this pain in worth it. I am 18 weeks. My OB and urologist definitely think I will get stones again, but with pain management, as with my other pregnancies, they believe I will get through this. I will try to avoid as much as possible from getting a stent. Just trying to drink lots of water. The drugs did not affect my children. They are healthy and drive me crazy! I just hope I can get through this pregnancy without too many problems. Already I have phebitis, and am being monitored because I have been exposed to Fifth disease.
I am very jealous of people who have easy pregnancies!
Has anyone heard of stones during pregnancy three times in a row? maybe I will be lucky!
I read as much as I could about stones prior to getting pregnant the second time, trying to avoid certain foods, drinking tons of water, etc. Nothing helped! My body just produces them during pregnancy.
Good luck to everyone!
