Hey ladies,
So sorry to hear about your kidney stones. I actually was diagnosed with gall stones during this pregnancy and I have heard they are just as bad as kidney stones, so believe me when I say I know what you are going through. I guess I am writing this to Bria-I just want to say that it is none of your business telling these ladies not to take thier pain medication and calling them weak. I am sure that they wouldn't if they had a choice, but I know that it puts stress on the baby to be in pain. I am not sure what a kidney stone attack is like, but with my gall bladder attacks I was throwing up for 2-3 days and not keeping anything down-even water, not to mention being in excruciating pain. I would lay on the bed and cry becuase I didn't want to take anything for it. My OB, ER doctors, and surgeon all convinced me it was better to take them then to put stress on the baby. I just had surgery to get it out becuase my liver wasn't functioning anymore due to the stones, and it was getting dangerous and they even put me under total anesthesia and me and my baby are fine. Of course I would have chosen differently if there was a choice, but my baby would not have lived if I had died. I just want to say that you cannot judge what people are going through just becuase your attacks have been relatively easy-everyone experiences it differently. I know that lots of women are able to go through the whole pregnancy with gall stones-like Shelly, and I could have until my liver was affected. I wouldn't call any pregnant woman who is suffering attacks caused by stones of any kind weak!
