Bria - you're quite right, you know all ...

Bria - you're quite right, you know all about your kidney stones and they obviously weren't that bad - so shut up about it. Some people here actually have some serious issues.
Girls, as they say, "sometimes you just have to take it from the source". If she's ignorant and doesn't know any better, don't let it get to you.
Ruth, it's possible that the baby is compressing your organs in there and you're getting symptoms of stones, because the flow is impeded, whether there is a stone contributing to the problem or not. You may never know the answer, but do whatever you can to make it feel better. Hopefully when the baby drops down at around 6 to 6 1/2 months your pain will just go away like mine did. (Sometimes there was trace amounts of blood in my urine, but other times there wasn't. I still don't know what my story was, but it sure as hell wasn't in my head!)
In the meantime, it's worth having the doctors look into it, they just might find something. Hot water bottles, drinking fluids, staying in whatever position doesn't hurt (I stayed upright for a week - tough to sleep, but the alternative was impossible), not wearing anything that has a tight waistband beneath the baby which prevents it from dropping down, and hoping for the best is all I can recommend. I guess the upside is that if they can't find any stones, it isn't a problem that is likely to continue after your pregnancy.
