Well, I must say, I haven't had as many problems as a lot of your ladies on here. I am 19 yrs old, and am 30 wks along today with a baby girl. I too had kidney attacks. The first one was when I was 5 1/2 months along. It was horrible, I thought at first I was having early labor and was scared to death. I was in the hospital 3 days. Never finding a kidney stone on the Ultra sound, they sent me home and said it was from the baby smashing my Urethra causing my kidney to back up. Well needless to say, I thought I was in the clear, until I had another attack at 28 wks. I was in the hospital 5 days. I was ready to go home on the 3rd day, when all of a sudden right as I was about to get discharged, I had a severe attack on my left side. The urologist and OB on call decided that the only way to solve this problem was with stents. So the next morning I had them put in. However, after getting home and after 3 days I was in so much pain and discomfort I wanted them out!! I cried all the time, and was always concerned with the amount of blood in my urine, it wasn't pink like the dr. stated it would be, rather it was pure red. I went a week and a 1/2 until I finally couldn't take it anymore. I met with the urologist and scheduled to have them removed. When they removed them, IT WAS THE WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE!~! I screamed and it seemed like it took forever. The nurse kept telling me labor was worse, but after reading all your postings on this website I knew she was just talking out of her butt. Which made it even worse!! NEVER EVER AGAIN will I ever get stents put in. They are talking about inducing me at 35-37 wks along. Depending on if I have another attack. For you ladies who kept the stents in, You're brave! I have no pain tolerance what so ever. and for you ladies who have kidney stones good luck! They still never figured out what my problem was. Now I am just hoping for a healthy baby, considering all the pain meds I was on constantly.
