I can't believe this happens to so many pregnant women and had never heard of this --took my health for granted i guess. i had never had stones until last week. I was in terrible pain and thought for sure I was having back labor--I am 29 weeks and had horrific back labor with my son 21 months ago. it took 9 hours in L and D and then admittance to Antepartum after the ultrasound for them to diagnose me and get the Morphine going in. i passed one of them in the hospital. i've had only two small stones so I can't imagine what you ladies with huge stones are going through. i spent 4 days in the hospital and am now on Tylenol with Codeine. It helps very little bit but i couldn't just stay in the hospital waiting to pass these things. not sure what is in store for me but i will definately push the water and will stop popping the Tums--I was taking the max dose per day -10. Every doctor in my OB group seems to be at a loss as how to help me or how to prevent this--they say it happens sometimes. it is very frustrating. as for now, i am just waiting, waiting, waiting for this last stone to pass and am here at work so i don't use up all of my Family Leave before the baby is born. i will keep watching this sight for more info/advice as i am new to this and clearly in the dark. the ultrasound also showed i had polyps on my Gallbladder. my doctor says we will address this after i deliver--is this all one big related problem? i just don't know what to think. Thank you all for sharing. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone but glad i'm not so alone.
