I am currently 27 weeks and have had what was "believed" to be kidney stones for the last 17 weeks. The pain lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to the longest episode lasting 3 hours ½ and I’ve had 8 attacks so far. I had a sonogram done of my kidneys and a recent trip to the urologist has him thinking this is not kidney stones for various reasons including there is no blood in the urine, and the stone that was visible is only 2mm. I was told to go to the Women's and Children's Hospital during an attack and have an IVP done. So, once again for the fourth time I run to the hospital only to be placed in a waiting room. While waiting the pain subsided and I was sent home once again. Still not knowing what is going on. At least when it was believed it was kidney stones, I felt there were some answers. But now that I’m being told it’s not stones, I am left in the dark and extremely frustrated. My pain begins in my lower to mid back and radiates to the front. The pain increases and eventually breathing becomes extremely difficult and feels as if I have a corset on that is tightening. I am wondering if anyone has undergone these symptoms and has had difficulty with their doctors. This forum has been such a great tool for me and I’m hoping I can get some feedback. Reading other women’s experience has been reassuring and I thank you all.
