I was diagnosed with kidney stones about a week ago when I woke up with horrible pain on my left side - lower abdomen and back. I'm 35 weeks pregnant by the way. So I thought it was early labor signs. Went into the hospital and after urine test and ultrasound/x-ray, they found a small stone (with blood in urine). They stated the procedures they might have to do if it got worse (meanwhile hooked me up to IV in hopes to wash out stone). Couple of days later, pain hits worse than ever. Back to hospital. Same thing - IV with painkillers (demerol which made me sick), and then sent me home. After that day, the pain's mostly stayed away, but I still ache a bit and the area is tender like I've been punched there and now it's healing or something. Am so scared the pain will return, and am angry they won't take the stone out.
My question is this though: I know women have passed stones on this forum - what do they look like??? What do the stones look like - what color, what size, what shape, what consistency, etc.
