Hi Everyone,
I’ve been reading this thread for a while and need some advice. I’ve had two miscarriages and recently lost a baby during my 7th month. After extensive testing they believe my losses are due to clotting issues and that I need to take baby aspirin and blood thinners during pregnancy. Anyways in the meantime they also found a 5cm pedunculated fibroid on the outside of the uterus (cavity is normal per hysteroscopy). Well one doctor, my RE is still recommending myo before getting pregnant again. He believes it is big enough that in could potentially interfere with the blood supply to a pregnancy. Two other doctors (OB and perinatologist) disagree and feel that based on location it would not cause problems. They said the only way a fibroid could interfere with the blood supply to a pg is if the placenta attached to it. I’m really upset and confused about all of this. I would really like to avoid surgery if at all possible. I did not have any problems with the fibroid during my last pregnancy, no pain, no pre-term labor, etc. I wouldn’t have even known it was there. They baby died in utero most likely from to clots and infarcts in the placenta. Thanks.
