My baby is 1 week old today. Time goes by so quickly, and even Adrian is really good baby I don't have much free time. Adrian is a very good baby he just sleeps and eats. And even he is small (6lb) he eats a lot for his size and therefore sleeps 3 to 4 hours uninterrupted. I was induced at Thursday 14. because my blood pressure was high again and Dr. didn't want to wait anymore. They gave me some kind of gel at 7pm and told me that I could sleep until morning and then they will start me on pitocin. They told me I will be able to sleep whole night because this gel very rarely starts labor. So I sent DH home.Well I guess I have my moms gene and around 9pm I started to feel some light cramps, not too bad. At 10:30 my water broke and contractions got stronger. dr told me to call DH because they had to start pitocin right away. By the time DH arrived I was ready for epidural. I had strong contractions for only about an hour and honestly I don't understand how someone can survive 12 hours of those. The man who invented epidural is supposed to be declared a god and every wish he has should be granted. Around 11:30 they started pitocin and right away Adrian had a deceleration so they stopped pitocin and let me progress on my own. Dr said, one more deceleration or he doesn't drop we go for C-section. So I slept until 5 am and I heard his heartbeat slow down again. Even he recovered quickly Dr came and the preped me for C-section. They gave me more heavenly epidural drugs and my lower part was out. It was a little weird but when I heard Adrian cry at 5:28 I so didn't care that I'm on a table with my gut open.I was posing for pictures while dr was putting me back together. DH saw fibroid and it was a size of a canaloupe. Regardless my uterus contracted and there was almost no bleeding. By evening I was on my feet. I can't believe I had major surgery. I'm recovering well since day one, no need for any meds. If there weren't for few cramps when I need to go to the bathroom and a scar, no one could tell I was in surgery. The only issue we have is that Adrian doesn't like to breastfeed. He is small and can't open his mouth, we have issue latching, so I'm like a cow on a dairy farm pumping milk every 3 hours, but I'm getting used to it. We'll my time is up, have to run.
