Ladies, please don't give up hope. I had ivf and became positive but with low hcgs, 23, 2dys later 25, a week later 212. All along they told me that the pregnancy was unlikey to be ongoing. After the 3rd test I went for a scan a week later, they saw the g sac, y sac and heartbeat (6wk pg) but scan showed a growth of 5wk, a wk later went bck for another scan (7wk) everything showed ok aprt from it showing an age of 6wks, this was ok though because it had grown a week in a week, a week after I went back (8wks) and it had grown to 8 wks so I was on track. They all thought originally I could have an ectopic but the scans proved them wrong. The hosp couldn't give me a conclusive answer but it looks like my embryos implanted a little later than the norm thats why hcg was low and the gestation age was a week behind. Anyway I am now nearly 10wks and everything is going fine, I have been discharged from the hosp and am now waiting to see a midwife.
So please do not give up hope because miracles can happen and do ask as many questions as you can think of and don't be intimidated by the docs.
