Feeling Territorial About My Job Don T Want Maternity Leave

I'm having a hard time wanting to leave work for maternity leave and I am feeling very territorial about my position. I don't quite think that it's because i'm afraid of the other person will do a better job... actually I don't know why i'm feeling this way. I know my job is very secure and i am able to take up to a year but i feel like having this baby and going back to work after the weekend. Has anyone ever felt this way? I know spending time with my child is more important but i just can't get over feeling replaced. I've even had vendictive thoughts about setting this person up to fail when i train them. I know, i'm bad!!!

I totally hear ya. That happened to me too but let me tell you, after my baby was born last week, I don't WANT to go back. I'm soooo serious. You may totally change your mind about your job. I was totally into my work and didn't want to do maternity leave but now that my little girl is here, I've totally changed my priorities and I'm glad I opted for 12 wks off instead of 6. I don't know how I'm going to go back cus I don't want to.
