Hi Jessielou, I'm taking lamictal 150 am 150 pm.. my docs haev no problem with it, they say the baby was exposed in utero and it's actually a bit better to continue because of the minute bit of lamictal in the baby rather than quit cold turkey. My daughter is 8 weeks old and there have been no problems at all. Breastfeeding relaxes me, helps me sleep better therefore makes me a better more relaxed mom and my littl girl is allergic to so many things, its best for her that I bf. so, again, the benefits outweigh the risks. BUT I"m not a doctor, I'm just going by the few I had rea__sure me although the perfect situation would be to have no meds thru teh bf time but sometimes that isnt possible. Good luck

Thanks so much for the response. I was actually posting this message for my niece, she delivered a week ago and has a VERY low milk supply, initial engorgement never even happened. Her doctor said the same thing regarding the effects on the baby but I was wondering if it could be effecting her milk supply, I've found a few other messages on other boards of women with the same problems. She is taking a significant amount more than you (250mg in the am, 400 in the pm). I was just wondering if I could find any other ladies having this problem because the medicine is a newer drug and there isn't much research regarding the subject of milk production.
