Flaky Nipples

Anyone know what could cause nipples to be dry and flaky? I had thought it could be thrush so I tried natural vitamins that I've read about in pill form and tried the vinegar rinse on my nipples, grapefruit seed extract and even that messy purple stuff and they are sill very dry. was given Lansinoh (think I spelled that wrong) at the hospital and have been using that, helps when I put it on but they go back to being just as dry later on. Had some minimal br___t pain that has gone away, no fever, no weird discharge from the nipples, no bleeding, and they do not itch at all, just flaky and dry. My daughter has no signs of thrush and no diaper rash. Has anyone had this happen to them and what did you do? thanks!!

My first thought was yeast, which is thrush, but now, I'm not sure. Huh. I did have some flakiness, but it wasn't bad, and I don't even think I did anything about it. Could ask your doctor/ midwife or call the local La Leche League and ask the leader (they give free b___stfeeding advice).
