My ped. suggested that maybe my son crying soo much may have something to do with my diet and that maybe I should watch what I eat if I continue br___tfeeding. I know of the obvious like avoiding caffeine, spicy foods. But what are some other foods that commonly upset a babies tummy, that wouldnt be so obvious to a 1st time mom?

dairy, chocolate, broccoli, cabbage, onions, garlic, msg foods, junk food in general, aspartame, too many sugary foods, too many carbs(may cause constipation). Try to have a well balanced diet..too much of anything can be bad even for you and remember every baby is different some can tolerate certain foods others can not.

My daughter could not tolerate ANY dairy in my diet until she was about 3 months old. Even a little bit of lactose as an ingredient and we would have bad tummy ache. I don't think she cared much for Chinese food either. I still avoid beans, broccoli, onions, garlic. Junk food is a little harder to avoid! ha ha

Green bell peppers. The minute I cut them out my dd was fine. She never had a problem with dairy, spicy food, onions, garlic, chocolate etc. The way I figured it out was to really pay attention to what I had eaten before she got ga__sy. After eating a sandwich with green peppers, pizza with green peppers and a chicken pasta dish with green peppers, I realized the common thread was the peppers.

I agree, spicy foods, dairy, certain veggies...I'm debating cutting dairy as my dd is intolerant to the dairy in formula, but the ped. said not to bother, but she is a fussy baby, so I wonder if it would help??!?!

My friend couldn't eat chocolate. I can eat it. But my little one gets upset after I drink orange juice, so as much as I love it I avoid it. I guess it also depends on your babies personal preferences.

I gave up chocolate for the 1st 3 months because of her lactose intolerance - boy was that hard! Trust was the 1st thing to come back! :-)
