Is it normal to have sharp pains in your br___ts? B--t feeding has been going well for me but lately I have been getting sharp pains in my br___ts. Normal? Or Not?

I sometimes got those too. I can't recall exactly what they were, but they were normal. . . . .I think maybe something to do with that duct being empty???

I had sharp stinging pains every time I had a letdown - but as my milk supply adjusted to my daughter, the pains went away. My aunt, however, had an issue with her kiddos - she had a similar stinging feeling but it never went away - she finally went to a doctor about it, and they did a mammogram, and found hundreds of little tiny tumors - the largest one was the size of a grain of rice. Since they were so small, they weren't removable at the time (early 80s) and I believe she still has them.

Wow thats really scary I hope thats not what it is

Well, her pain was constant...if your pain fades in and out, I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it's a__sociated with your let-down... if your nipples are pink in addition to the stinging pain, you could have thrush.

If it's a "tingly" feeling a few minutes after you start nursing, hear a baby, see a baby or think about a baby, that's your letdown. Mine would actually hurt. What I thought you were describing was a sharp pain that might be on one side or the other and goes away quickly. That's not a letdown but related to empty ducts. . . Thrush hurts on the nipples and is constant throughout nursing. Does that help??

Yeah but I was describing the feeling that you thought was empty ducts. so it's normal?

Yes.
