Hello, I have a Medela PIS and want to tart using storage bags. I heard the Medela bags are not a good as the Gerber bags, is this true? Do the bags go inside the storage containers? Or how do they attach to the pump?

Hi... I use the Medela PIS, pump into the Medela bottles and then transfer the milk to the storage bags. I haven't had any problems with the bags, and we've defrosted and used quite a few. Make sure to freeze them flat, and don't over fill them. (They are supposed to hold 6 oz, but it's possible to put quite a bit more in - I think that may cause problems!)

People have also said that when u freeze them to put them into anther freezer type bag to protect them. And when u defrost them to do it inside of another bag. That way if a hole pops you won't waste that precious milk!!

I prefered Gerber or Lanisoh bags myself. My LC said Medela bags suck!!! Good advice wailing!! I've lost a few bags of milk to holes..I would've never thought of that...duh!!

I use the Lansinoh bags and they have worked perfectly for me....I also do not freeze more than 4-5oz at one time, just b/c I heard that if you freeze much more, they won't thaw well...I pump into bottles and then transfer to the bag.
