I had a stillborn daughter in June 2004. 10 months later I'm pregnant again. My c-section insicion hurts every now and then. It burns or makes my stomach sore. Is this normal? Anyone else hurt? I'm going to my dr. today but wanted opinions. Did I give my body enough time to heal from the previous pregnancy? Thanks.

After my first c/s I was told to NOT get pregnant before at least 1 year after I gave birth to avoid any complications or tearing of the uterus. This terrified me, so we never got pregnant until 2 years post-partum. I know 2 years pp, it doesn't hurt anymore. I'd think due to ligaments and muscles stretching, it might cause some discomfort during the course of your pregnancy but since you are 10 months post-partum, it should be ok. You should raise your fears with your OB, s/he will surely relieve some of your worries. Congratulations!

I'm SOOOOOO glad you asked that. my first was a planned c/s as I had a blood clot in my stomach. my 2nd was an emerency c/s after I tore pretty bad cos i was pushing too soon. With my 2nd pregnancy my scar didn't hurt, it itched sometimes. I'm not 9weeks and my scar is really annoying me. I too had only a 10mth gap. (my youngest was 1 on 29th april) I keep getting sharp shooting pains over my scar and sharp pains in the lower left-hand side of my stomach. let me know what the doc says so I know if I'll need to make an appointment.
