Anyone Else Have Bicornate Uterus

I was told before I became pregnant that I had a bicornate uterus. I am 10 w/3d now, but at my u/s at 6 wks we saw yolk sac and heartbeat in the left side of uterus. I was told it was in a "good spot." I was also told the risk of preterm labor is higher in people with bicornate uterus. I just worry about what the future holds. I go for an u/s in a week and just worry about what we might see. Of course I'm also worried about having a miscarriage although I have had no cramping, bleeding, etc. If anyone has information or has been through this please let me know. Thanks =)

Hi Heather, I too have a heart shaped uterus and this is my first pregnancy. From the research I've done, the down falls to having this type of uterus is breech pregnancy (baby is feet first which means c-section) and that it can cause pre-term labor. I know it's scary, I'm about weeks pregnant myself. I just try and stay positive and not worry about bad things too much. If you go to the PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS forum and look for heart shaped uterus there are other women who have posted their success stories. Don't worry, Ithink we'll be just fine....try not to worry too much!!! I go in for my 2nd U/S friday, my initial one they didn't see anything, but now I think I'm far enough along to see something. My hcg levels are really good so I'm hoping for the best! Best wishes....post back if you want to talk more :)

It is so good to have someone else going through the same thing as me. From what I have read you should see the baby really well this Friday!! You will have to let me know how everything goes! My appt. is next Tues. I can't wait! Isn't it so hard to wait patiently for the next appt. That has been the hardest part for me so far during this pregnancy =).
