I was curious if anyone has rented or owned a fetal doppler. I miscarried my first and only and can't decide it they would be worth the money or not.

I bought a BeBe sounds monitor, and it never worked for me. I am current;y 38 weeks and just able to hear heartbeat with it. I know the ones you can rent are a lot better.. but I would save my money if you are thinking of buying one from the store.

I've heard they're pretty much a rip-off. That they don't work until very very late in pregnancy.

I rented from Babybeat.com and I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had a miscarriage so I know how you feel with all the worrying. I only rented the unit for 1 month for $24 and it's totally worth it!!! I am 11 weeks now and can find the heartbeat in a second and it's amazing every time. I think that the soonest you can hear it with the doppler is 9 weeks. I would highly recommend a fetal doppler especially for those that are paranoid (like me!) :)

I rented one from HeartbeatsatHome. I love mine too. I am 13 weeks and have had it for just a week now. I found the heartbeat the first time I tried it at 12 weeks. The Bebe one is not the same as the ones you can rent. Bebe says on the package that it doesnt work until the third trimester, but the ones you can rent work just like the one's in the Doctor's office. I did do a little research on the safety and found that there hasnt been a lot of conclusive evidence pointing in either direction. Therefor, the recommendation I found for usage was less than 7 minutes a time, 2 or 3 times a week.
