Cures For Bad Bad Gas Pains

GoGo Trigger - February 28

Hi guys...I'm 4 weeks 3 days pregnant. No morning sickness yet but ever since I clicked over to 4 weeks I have had horrible gas pains at night that double me over for about 15 minutes, and during which I scream. I started taking a new prenatal with lots more iron last Thursday, and have since been put on Flintstones with a folic acid supplement. That helps a little but now I have 3 moderately bad attacks instead of one hugely bad attack each night. Has anybody had luck with any other remedies?

Hey GO GO! I am also 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I too have been having quite a lot of gas pains. So bad that I feel like I am going to be sick, or pa__s out, and makes me feel like I need to go to the bathroom. I haven't been very sick yet... however I have had a few moments of nausea... eating a few crackers helped. I have not found anything to help w/ the gas. I usually take a couple of tums, or a rolaid, and try to lay down. Some times getting in the bath tub helps. ONE THING did help the other night. I know this is going to sound silly, but you know the mylicon gas drops for babies.... well I took some... *its safe for adults and pregnant women* Maybe try that. Hey! Also... feel like being my pregnant buddy? I havent found anyone else that is exactly the same as me as far as dates go...

Hi there! Congrats on your pregnancy :D Absolutely, let's be pregnant buddies! This is our first; I'm 30 and DH Is 32. Not sure how many we have yet...our first ultrasound is next week. We got pregnant our first round of IVF, after 3 IUIs and 2 months on Clomid. What started it all was no ovulation after a miscarriage in 12/05...very different from this pregnancy though. I'm curious what I'll be able to see on the ultrasound next Wednesday. Betas for me are 725 (14 d.p.o.) and 1943 (17 d.p.o.). Great suggestions for the gas; the first night I actually thought I was miscarrying since the pains are really low in my abdomen. I think it's getting better little by little though as my body gets used to the hormones. I know that hot showers help as well :D I'll have to try the gas drops. Tonight I took a gas-X and we'll see what that does (checked with my nurse to make sure it was safe today...SO happy to find out it was!).

Good Morning Go-Go! A little bit about me. I am 24, and DH is 26. We are proud parents of an almost 3 year old little girl named Keaton. We have been ttc for about a year. We went on a cruise Feb 1st, and well... this little bean was conceived on the cruise. *I guess we were more relaxed. :) * Anyway, I won't know my betas until today. I had my first prenatal visit yesterday. *I am considered "high-risk" b/c my daughter was born at 30wks, (went into labor 3 times before that, 22wks, 25wks, and 28wks). I had a m/c jan 05 at 8 wks. I had another m/c nov 06 at 7wks. Hopefully this one will stick. Okay, so I went to the dr. yesterday. They determined that my due date is around nov. 4th. I had an ultrasound done yesterday, they didn't see anything except the pregnancy induced thickening of my endometrial stripe. I had blood work done also. They are supposed to call me today w/ the results of my beta. I have to have levels retested again tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will know the results of those tomorrow afternoon so I won't have to wait until monday. *that would be torture!* I am also having another u/s done next wednesday. I will be 5 wks 3 days. I pray they see a gestational sac. I am so nervous. I am trying to stay positive, but its so hard. The ultrasound tech (along with a lot of websites that I have looked at) said that seeing a ges. sac at 4 weeks is unusual. It's normally seen around the middle of the 5th week. I dunno. What do you think.... Have you had any bleeding, or spotting or anything. I haven't I have had a lot more just clear and sometimes whitish discharge (sorry if TMI) It doesn't itch or anything, so that is good. Your betas sound great. How many embryos did you implant?

Morning, Mrs :D that's so great about conceiving on a cruise...they are relaxing! Congrats also on your beautiful daughter--love her name! And what a miracle! Do you know why you went into labor so many times beforehand, to help out with this pregnancy? So she will have a sibling soon, that's awesome! And you too know what m/cs are like...I'm just starting to not be paranoid every minute of the day! I also notice that my stomach is changing and that it's a lot harder. The bean feels "locked in" there more so than last week, which makes me feel more secure too. My due date according to an online IVF calender is Nov. 3rd; I'll ask next week if that's the exact date. We will be ultrasound twins next Wedn. I hear that whether or not they see a sac is related to the beta level; some say you have to be above 1200 HCG to see anything. But you'll be 5 weeks 3 days so that might be visible...how exciting! I've had no bleeding or spotting at all, but have had the same discharge, sometimes more than others. I also spent my first gas-free night last night after taking Gas-X. How great that was :D We also implanted 3 embryos. So I've very curious to see how many stuck :D I'm wondering if all of them may have since I never got any bleeding, or maybe they just flush out without any blood.

Wow! So you have a chance at triplets! OH that would be so so much fun!! I just got my first beta results back a few minutes ago. They are 1498 *that was yesterday* I go back to have them checked again tomrrow morning. I am hoping for at least 2200. I have heard from a few people that you should see a sac around 1200 or so.... so that is kind of worrying me a little bit. Only thing is... my ultrasound was not a internal ultrasound. It was done on top of my tummy. I know that can affect how much and what you see also.... I dunno. I am just worried. No bleeding, no cramping... a few preggo symptoms... so I guess thats good. I am going to demand an internal u/s next week. :) Also... I have to wait til MONDAY to find out tomorrows betas! PURE TORTURE!

Mega - March 1

Hi Gogo! Hope you don't mind me popping on here to say hi! YAY! It's it great to be able to post on this board. Finally! I hate to say it but around week 9 or so gas pains get even more common. Something to look forward to, huh?! MrsShelton--Wow, great first beta! I've actually heard you can't always see a sac until the beta hits 2000, at the very least. I wonder why they didn't give you an internal u/s the first time? I thought that was best in early pg. Good luck at your next appt!

GoGo Trigger - March 1

Hi Mega :D That is a great first beta, MrsS--we are tracking each other pretty close :D I totally don't think that they would have seen a sac on an external ultrasound--pretty much has to be internal at this point i think, lol! Today I'm feeling much better. I'm also getting leg pains esp. in my right thigh. Those hurt so I'm taking Tylenol.

Grewal - March 1

hi gogo so you are going to happy three babies ohh good luck how do you do that actually i want to have twins there is no twins in my family i am 6 weeks

MrsShelton217 - March 1

I found a great website. DrSpock.com It said the same thing that Mega said... It's VERY rare to see anything other than the thickening of the endometial stripe before HCG levels hit 2000. That really eases my mind. Twins run in my family. (I am a fraternal twin) I would love to have twins, but my beta doesn't seem high enough for twins at this point...

GoGo Trigger - March 1

Yeah, I think the HCG numbers can be predictive of multiples but really aren't that helpful :D My RE told me of a woman whose HCG was over 900 at 14 d.p.o. but who had a singleton, and there have been people with betas of 125 or so who then had twins :D But at the same time my RE nurse is saying she "wouldn't be surprised" :D
