I just find out I was pregnant. I estimate I am about 8 weeks along. I have a chest cold and don't know what to take for it... can someone help me.. My doctors appointment is not scheduled until March 8.

My docotor told me I could take Robitussin cough syrup without alcohol. ALso, Tylenol is safe. If you have a fever over 101 you need to call the doctor, fevers arent good for the baby. Sucrets sore throat drops were on my safe list too. I know every doctor is different though, in what they say ok to and what they dont.

Even though your Dr.'s appt. isn't for a few weeks, you can still call your doc's office and ask to speak to a nurse. They are usually very good about answering your questions over the phone---they want you and your baby to be healthy!

My OB gave me a list of ok meds. Here is the list of meds he said was acceptable during pregnancy.Hope it helps, but I would call your Dr and see what he says.Constipation-Colace or Surfax Cough-Robitussin--Robitussin DM after 14 weeks Diarrhea-Imodium AD or Kaopectate Headache-tylenol or extra strength tylenol Head cold,stuffy nose--Sudafed,Actifed,Dimetapp,Tylenol Cold and Sinus, (Clariton Zyrtec and allegra by RX only) Heartburn-Tums, Zantac,or Pepcid Indigestion-Tums,Maalox,,Mylanta,or Riopan Nausea-Emetrol Sleeplessness-warm bath and count sheep Sore throat Cepacol,Halls,Chlorasepic Lozenges Yeast infection-Monistat Cream
