I am sorry to burst your bubble, but I read about that in a baby magazine, and I heard that it is only slighty above 50% accurate. And seeing as there is a 50% chance of it being accurate anyway, based on the fact that there are only 2 choices, it isn't really all that great. So don't be surprised if at your first ultrasound, or with an amniocentesis, you find out that you're having a girl. Those are really the only accurate ways of finding out the gender of your baby.

WELL IT HAS A 99.9% ACCURACY. IT TEST THE CHROMOSONES IN MY BLOOD. SINCE IM A GIRL AND I ONLY CARRY FEMALE CHROMOSONES AND THE DETECTED MALE. THEN IM PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT IT IS CORRECT. IF IT IS WRONG, THEN I GET MY MONEY BACK. NO BIGGIE. I THINK IT IS A WONDERFUL TEST.

LILMAMA - June 2

ARE YOU SURE YOUR NOT TALKING ABOUT THE CHINESE GENDER CHART? CAUSE I KNOW THAT IS A 50% CHANCE.

LILMAMA - June 2

WELL I KNOW I DON'T HAVE MALE CHROMOSONES IN MY BLOOD. SO HOW CAN THAT BE EXPLAINED?

flower.momma - June 2

That is what the website says, but other studies have shown that it is not neccessarily the case. The website makes it sound fantastic, but if it really is all that great, more people would be using it, including Dr. themselves.

WELL NOW IM JUST GETTING NERVOUS.........:(

LILMAMA - June 2

SO YOU THINK ITS ALL JUST A LIE???? I READ ABOUT THE TEST IN A MAGAZINE TOO. WHY WOULD A MAGAZINE RECOMMEND IT IF IT IS NOT THAT GOOD?

I don't know. The thing that makes me skeptical is that it is not regulated by the FDA in any way, so there have not actually been any clinical trials done outside of the company. Also, the company's methods of detection have not been disclosed to the scientific community, which is weird. There are also several lawsuits pending against the company. I don't know, I really hope it works out for you. Also, I just got curious, and visited a website which was not endorsed by the company, that said a 'handful" of people recieved innacurate results, so I probably was wrong about the 50% part. It was a lot more accurate than than, but it didn't say how much more. Oh, and one one the reasons that the test may come back wrong is because of vanishing twin syndrome. I read than 1 in 7 of us start out as a twin, but only 1 in 70 pregnancies are twin pregnancies. So, if the test in administered before the twin "vanishes" or whatever, the test may pick up on the wrong gender. I hope your baby is a boy, and then you can say, "ha, flower.momma, you were wrong after all." good luck and sorry if I freaked you out.

And at least, If I am right. The test promises a 200% money back guarantee.

LILMAMA I dont mean to sound mean but I was reading over the posts and u said u have no male chromosones. That is actually incorrect considering u have 46 chromosones in u half from ur mother and half from ur father! I wouldnt trust that test but hey if u get ur money back, sweet! ***** Also a babies s_x isnt actually determined until about 13 weeks when the fetus becomes a boy or a girl. At 10 weeks ur baby is genderless! Im serious.****

DownbutnotOUT - June 3

Let me revise my last post pls..Ur babys gender is determined when egg meets sperm yadayada. It just doesnt start developing into the s_x it will become until around 13 weeks.

flower.momma - June 3

Yes, the gender is determined at conception, so it doesn't really matter when the s_xual organs develop because the male hormones and chromosomes have been there all along.

Try this website. It was accurate when I had my first. http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/cal.html

Too much money for me....anyone who has that much money to waste should dontate it to a better cause.

emilymalm - June 3

Yeah, those things are garbage. They do offer a money-back guarantee but good luck getting it. In order to get the money back, you have to wait until after the baby's born, send them a copy of the birth certificate, and a sample of the baby's blood. You also can't move during your pregnancy. This page talks all about it: http://www.in-gender.com/cs/blogs/gender_selection_news/archive/2005/12/29/4559.aspx take out any "-" it puts into the link. Btw, these guys are also getting sued by a bunch of people so they're bad news in my opinion and a waste of money.

I did the chinese detection on ww.thelaboroflove.com/chart/cal.html just for fun and it was correct. I just found out that I was having a baby girl yesterday. Have fun at a time like this... try to focus on the health of the baby rather then the gender. Smile and enjoy this time.
