Hello ladies, I wanted to know if there is a website where I can get information on the foods that I should and shouldn't be eating while pregnant. Does anyone know? Please help thank you.

I did a little research for you and BabyFit.com seems great. I just registered and will see how it goes. It is free and you can track the food you eat, your exercise, etc. plus they give you meal plans, exercise tips, help with aches and pains.... I think you will find it useful. Prior to today, I read the book What to Expect When You Are Expecting and created my own spreadsheet in Excel to log what I eat and see if I am meeting the requirements for each area. I'd be happy to email you my log if you want to try it out. I have found it keeps me honest! My email is: [email protected] Some food suggestions: Avoid most seafood - it has mercury; make sure bread is "Whole Wheat" not just wheat or 7 grain; limit sugar and caffeine.. just remember everything you eat shold have a value (high Vit C, Calcuim, Iron, Protein, etc.). Now is not the time for empty calories. Juicy Juice is a great way to get Vit C, one fruit servicing and it also counts as one fluid - all for 100 calories. Good luck, hope this helped.

I too have the book What to Expect When You are Expecting. There are alot of helpful ideas on what to eat and what not to eat. HOWEVER, I completely freaked out when I read 2 servings of this, 3-4 servings of that, at least 2 of this, etc! It sounded like to me that I needed to eat about 47 servings of stuff a day! Just kidding, but it was alittle overwhelming . . . so, I looked at the bottle of liquid vitamins and minerals that I have been taking since January -Eniva- and discovered not only does it have folic acid, but nearly every other vitamin and mineral that I am supposed to be ingesting during this time according to this book. My game plan is to eat as best I can - lots of protien, etc, but not to stress too much. I can't get it all from my food! Plus, I've been throwing up frequently and alot of times I HAVE to eat what sounds good or it doesn't stay down, which half the time is very salty stuff which is supposed to be a no-no. My midwife told me to get through the first trimester and then work on my diet. She is thrilled that I am taking Eniva because it is a very good supliment - I get twice my daily value of C, and 100% daily of A,D,E and ALOT of other things. Thus, if I eat an orange or something good, it is wonderful for me but not my only source of C and I don't have to stress about "at least 3 servings from this list a day". This is just an idea - if you can make it work like Lisa, more power to you but this is just another idea.
