I Need Some Input Please

Hi all.. I post here quite a bit. I have recently been on a roller coaster with my pregnancy. According to my lmp I am 9wks 3days preg. My first appt they did an ultrasound (6wks, 6days) just a yolk sac, then again @ 8wks from lmp, small fetal pole, no hr. Yesterday at 9 wks 3 days, there was a tiny baby with a heartrate of 116! After all those weeks of waiting, I finally saw my baby with a heartbeat ! my question is: SHould I worry that the baby is only measuring 6wks? I mean, technically that would only make me about a week off. Still, I can't help but worry a little bit. I want to be so happy !!! This first trimester has been nothing but stress! Doc says he is still cautious and wants to check me again in a week. I feel more confident, but like I said I can't help but still worry after all I have been through the past weeks. Has anyone lost their baby after seeing a heartbeat? What is weird, now is that the past three days the nausea has just now kicked in. I have had sore bbs since I found out, but now I am just sick at my stomach all the time !!!

Your chance of m/c once there's a hb drops to like 1%. I wouldn't worry about the dating thing. Using the LMP is not accurate anyway, as it a__sumes you ovulated on cd 14, and we all know that doesn't happen every time! You might have ovulated a little later than usual. I also didn't have any pregnancy symptoms until 9 weeks, which I thought was weird. Good luck with the morning sickness, aka all-day sickness. I totally know what you mean about being stressed; I conceived again right after a m/c, and I started spotting again and seriously thought I was going to have 2 mc/ in less than 3 months. It's very scary. Try to not stress though. You'll be OK :) Good luck!

HI Chas, I'm so sorry you are going through all this stress. I am praying for you and your little bean. Like Susan W, I think you should disregard dating from your lmp, you could have o later than you think. About miscarrying after hearing the hb I know it is rare but it does happen. I have read that in most cases of women who mc after they hear the hb, the hb was too slow to begin with. Here is some info I just found on normal heart rates: The heart rate was cla__sified as slow if it was fewer than 90 beats per minute prior to 6.3 weeks or fewer than 110 beats/min at 6.3-7.0 weeks, normal if it was 100 or more beats/min at less than 6.3 weeks or 120 or more beats/min at 6.3-7.0 weeks, or borderline if it was 90-99 beats/min prior to 6.3 weeks or 110-119 beats/min at 6.3-7.0 weeks." Hope this helps.

CHAS- My doctor scared the hell out of me last week. I got my BFP on 3/23 and went in for an u/s on 4/3. (I m/c in Dec '05 so my doctor is being extra cautious). He insisted I should be 7w, but I kept telling him I couldn't be. During the time I should have o'ed, DH and I used protection (we had a vacation planned for months and I didn't want to be pg on the trip). Anyway, long story short - I was right and doc was wrong. I was only 5w 3d at the u/s on 4/3. Like Susan said, your LMP is not all that accurate. My original edd was 11/21. After a 2nd u/s found a h/b and measurements were taken, my edd is now 11/30. Keep positive thoughts and lots of good luck to you!

Chas, are you my twin? I had the exact same thing happen to me! I have had a total of three ultrasounds because of early spotting, and they found that I was a week behind what they thought. Also, my nausea kicked in about a week and a half ago as well. It is so bad that I am wearing those sea-band things all the time! Don't worry about what your LMP says, especially if you've ever been irregular. Not every woman ovulates right in the middle of the month. The only reason I had any kind of regularity in my cycle is because I had a D & C in November, but that doesn't mean everything is regular! I have a fetal heartbeat as well, and am now 8 weeks, 2 days, but technically should be 9 weeks, 2 days. Good luck and keep us posted!
