Mild Cramping And Spotting Normal

I recently found out that I am 5 almost 6 weeks pregnant with my first child. I had been having mild back cramping and occasional abdominal cramping since before I found out that i was pregnant. I took 3 hpt and they all came out positive. Just yesterday, I was experiencing slight back cramps (almost as though it was a dull backache like you get before you start your period) and occasional abdominal cramps that were very mild...nothing that I was too alarmed about. Later that night, I went to the bathroom just before bed and noticed some dark brown discharge in my underwear (about the size of a 50-cent-piece). When i wiped, however, there was nothing on the toilet paper so I had decided to go to bed. The next morning I awoke and went to the bathroom and instead, there was no trace of the discharge in my undewear but when I wiped, there was a small amount on the toilet paper. The discharge was very small amount everytime. I am planning on going to the doc on tuesday because I have an appointment for this day. I am so scared about miscarrying and was wondering if anyone had any information or was going through the same things. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] anytime. Thanks everyone!!

I just now read this thread, but any update? This sounds exactly like me, although I'm not really having cramps. The spotting has got me so worried because I've read that once you bleed, 50% will miscarry and 50% will not. Those odds aren't great. Just wondering what happened at your dr. visit! Good luck - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I too have had some darker spotting this morning ....not yet bleeding. I think this is the most unnerving time of a pregnancy. I understand that so many woman miscarry and yet it seems like everyone that I know is having a healthy pregnancy without issue. Do you have other normal pregnancy symptoms?

I just see the discharge when I go to the bathroom and wipe.
