Pain On Top Of Left Leg

Hi, I've had this problem now for over a week and wondered if it would be a good idea to get it checked out again by my doctor or ob gyn. I have had constant pain on the top of my left leg (quadricep). It gets really hot under the skin but its not cramping but shoots a pain from the top of my leg down to just above the knee. It happened Thursday night and has been sore ever since and worse mainly at night. I have to be really careful at night when I turn on my left side because the pain is so excruciating that it wakes me up if I don't becareful how I turn on that side. I asked my doctor about it as I first suspected that a varicose vein was the culprit which I do have on the left side but more around the hamstring area but the pain is now more located at the top of the leg and if I stand on it for more than a few minutes it feels like that numb tingly feeling like when your arm falls asleep. I wondered if maybe I pinched a nerve somehow but its driving me crazy because I can't get a good night sleep. Anyone else had this problem??? Thanks for your input.

Hi, I'm new here...have a similar problem on the right side. After my 1st son was born, I was diagnosed with a slight femoral hernia. I am about 8 wks now and the pain is getting alot worse...my pinkie toe even goes numb sometimes. Talk to your doc!

Hi Tanya, I will be nine weeks May 27 and the pain is getting worse as well but just in that one area and when I asked my doctor about it last visit she really didn't say much. At first I thought it was a varicose vein but now I'm not so sure. My next doctor appt is June 15 but I don't think I can wait that long but its bothers me more when I lay down and its really a pain but I agree that I definitely need to see my doc but even maybe an ob would be able to shed some light on this problem but keep me posted on how you are doing and if I find out anything in the meantime I will let you know too but I was speaking to someone at our post office yesterday and she thinks it maybe just some cramping but I will also stop at a pharmacy tonight and ask a pharmacist what they think and thanks for the reply!
