I just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant and I had a mc on 9/23. When I went to the OB for my mc they were worried about my blood pressure (170/100) and referred me to my GP. My gp put me on 5 mg of Norvasc and told me that most obs agree it is safe for pregnancy. However, everything I see on the web says that the effects for this durg are unknow. Anyone esle in my situation or know pg women who were treated with hypertention with norvasc? Help I am worried!

I had hypertention in my first pg but only in the third trimester. They put me on Labetelol (sp?) told me it was safe for the baby but that I would have to have a biophysical scan (ultrasound and other tests) once a week until I delivered, I now have a very healthy and active 13 month old boy. I have never heard of norvasc...

I have been on norvasc and when I found out I was pregnant they changed it over to labetolol. I was told Norvasc was safe too (5mg also) but had swelling in my ankles so they switched me to labetolol which is also safe.
