Scared Bleeding

I just found out 3 days ago that I'm pregnant, and my period would be due today. Sorry if tmi, but when wiping this morning, I noticed slightly pink-hued cm. I have very minor cramps, nothing too bad at all. I'm really scared. What could this be from? Should I be really worried?

hi you could be having implantation bleeding, if it gets any heavier I would go to see your doctor. try not to worry as alot of women spot a bit in early pregnancy. I am currently 7.2 weeks preg and I had implantation spotting about the time my period was due. if you can call your doctor and he should be able to arrange a blood test or scan. good luck and let me know how you get on.

Jue, Is right, if your period is just now due it could be implantation. I have read you can also slightly cramp with this. Althought it is recommended you report any bleeding to your Dr. There are more serious things it could be, but the timing is right for implantation.

Thanks to both of you. For some reason, I always thought that implantation occurred before a positive hpt could result. Back to health ed for me! I think I'll just lay low for the next day or so and I'll monitor myself. Thanks for easing my anxiety!

I HAD THE SAME THING. IT'S CALLED IMPLANTATION BLEEDING. IT' ALSO HAS SOME OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS YOUR PERIOD LIKE CRAMPS AND IRITABILITY. I AM NOW 3 MONTHS PREGNANT. IT IS VERY COMMON. DON'T BE TO WORRIED. AS LONG AS IT WAS SLIGHT PINK ONLY WHEN YOU WIPED AND NOT HEAVY BLEEDING LASTING LONGER THEN A DAY. LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. IM VERY CURIOUS.

Sigh....very stressful day. Later on today, the bleeding got brighter in color, but it was really just spotting - nothing on the undies (sorry again if tmi). Anyway, I called a nurse who said it might be okay, but I should go to the ER anyway. There, they did an ultrasound and pelvic examination, a bunch of blood tests, etc. The doctor was concerned since it seemed to go a bit beyond normal implantation bleeding. My beta is at 68, which is normal (I think) for being 14 dpo. The u/s, of course, revealed nothing since I'm not far enough along. They're concerned, but say I've probably got a 50-50 chance of continuing normally. Thank GOODNESS, the spotting has subsided. I'm still a nervous wreck, though, since I'm (we, I supposed) are not out of the woods yet. I'm getting by beta rechecked on Tuesday morning and on Thursday morning to see if my hcg has increased at all. I just have to sit tight until then and pray that it doesn't get worse.

JUST HANG IN THERE. I'VE HEARD STORIES OF OTHER WOMEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE BEGINING BUT EVERYTHING TURNED OUT JUST FINE. KEEP YOUR HOPES UP.

Thank you, Lilmama. You wouldn't believe how grateful I am for the support and well wishes.

Update: doing a little better today. The spotting has cleared up entirely, but I've had horrible heartburn and an upset stomach all day. Hopefully, that just means my hcg level is going up nicely!

Hi Suzy....I had implantation bleeding right around the missed period....then spotting between weeks 6 and 8....I am at week 9 now...had a good ultrasound at 6 weeks with a heartbeat....my doc says 1st trimester spotting is very common......but get an ultrasound as soon as you can to put your mind at ease, (stress is bad for you at this point) I've read your percentage goes from 50/50 chance of m/c to 95/5 if there is a heartbeat...even in the presence of spotting....good luck....and congrats

Saw my OB today, and as of right now, most signs are looking good. My hcg on Sunday was 61, and by Tuesday it had gone up to 191. Today (Thursday) it was 592. It's pretty much tripling! This doesn't make things perfectly "okay," of course, but at least the hcg is going up normally. If nothing else, this helps provide evidence against eptopic pregnancy. I'm getting an ultrasound on Monday so they can make sure the baby is in the "right place," so to speak. Hopefully, it might be late enough to detect a heartbeat. If not, they'll probably bring me back in later in the week. You're right, though, ibk8t - as soon as I see/hear the heartbeat, I'll feel so much better.
