This is my first pregnancy. I am 5 weeks and 4 days and I just had my first bout of m/s tonight. I feel like I have been run over by a Does anyone have any good suggestions for when you are feeling nauseous ie soda crackers etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard ginger is really good for it. If your taking prenatal vitamins, take them on a very full stomach (dont eat a peice of toast and then take them) take it about 15-20 minutes after you eat.

I would drink Ginger Ale and warm Coke for m/s. Toast, crackers, anything bland! I also take my vitamins at night before I go to bed. That seems to help a bit. Hope it pa__ses for you soon!

Packet of plain chips (salty ones) and a ginger beer (it's a soft drink) does it for me. As long as i have it before hunger really sets in otherwise i feel like i want to throw up if i eat anything but i need to eat to not feel ill. Damned if you do and d__ned if you don't. Haha....Good luck, it is just trying to figure out what works for you.

Hey Chrissievan! Ask your doctor about Zofran. Mine prescribed me some for nausea and it works great! It does however make you constipated so you need to find a safe laxative or something like that to take along with it! Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I bought some gingerale today and that settled my stomach a bit and I guess I am just eating what I am craving whick is okay because I crave really healthy things. Amber I don't think I will ask for anything prescription unless it gets really really bad. Right now I can deal with it I am just hoping it doesn't happen at work - I start a new job tommorrow. Thanks again everyone!!

Good luck with your new job! :)

My ultrasound tech recommended Big Red chewing gum - it worked for me (for nauseau...I never threw up). Another tip is to eat regularly throughout the day - don't overeat and don't let your stomach get empty.

I just was discussing this same topic on another forum and was told to keep snacks by my bed to snack on in the middle of the night also (crackers, pretzels). That way when you wake up in the middle of the night you can grab something and never really let your stomach get empty.

try coke syrup (you may have to get it from the pharmacy but you dont need a prescription) and ginger altoids (you can usually find them at target)
