This may seem like a stupid question....but is it okay to drink tap water in the early months of pregnancy or should I still to bottled water?

my dentist told me yes to drink tap water (put through a britta or something like it to take out the junk) but he said to use it because bottled water has no floride in it and tap water does and he is seeing too many kids born with c___ppy teeth from their moms drinking only bottled water.

you should drink bottle water, but if you have a britta then it would be ok.

You can use the Nestle bottled water.. it contains 0.2 ppm of fluoride. It should be fine...

Good question! I never even thought about fluoride. I thought toothpaste provided enough on its own ?!?

unfortunately it's hard to know. If you can find out from you local municipality with toxic chemicals are present in the water, that would be good. For example, in DC they have areas with very high lead levels. That is not good for the fetus. I am drinking bottled water, but tap would be fine in an area that doesn't have any significant levels of contamination (arsenic, perchlorate, mercury, etc).
