I posted this on the second trimester page also, but does anyone know of any legitimate work from home jobs. I'm desperate to quit my job but will need to somehow supplement my income. I currently work as a nanny and know that my boss is going to let me go soon anyway, because she doesn't agree with the fact that I am pregnant and not married yet. Oh well, Thanks!

You should tell your boss that it's the year 2007 and we're not living in the 40's anymore. Women are having babies with or without husbands now a days. Geeze!!!! I feel sorry for you, no one should ever make you feel bad for having or wanting children. JMO

As far as work from home, I'm not much help to you, I would also love to find something I can do from home!!

Yeah, she's a little ridiculous, I think she's afraid that her 16 year old will get the idea that getting pregnant before marriage is ok. Well if the 16 year odl was smart enough she's realize that her parents had a shotgun wedding when they found out she was coming along. Some people can be really hypocritical.

well employers are legally not allowed to lay you off because of pregnancy, regardless of marital status... of course Im not sure how that works if it is a private employer like that but I would look into legal action if she fires you for that reason alone, JMO. as far as jobs from home I have been having a hard time finding things too.. I did hear something about data entry that you can do from home on your computer... but I don't have the name of the company or any other information sorry.. I just know it exists. good luck in your search, and let us know if you find anything :)

Have you thought about doing home daycare?

lol jessica I was thinking that too!! If I had a bigger house I would love to do that.. I love kids and I figure if Im already taking care of mine and have all the supplies handy why not! lol

I thought about that. I have great references and backround clearances and everything else, but my fiance is a cop and we have guns in teh house, which are kept out of a childs reach, but they are still in here. We also have 3 dogs, 2 pitbulls and a rottweiler. I don't think people would feel comfortable having their child around my dogs, even though I know they are very well trained and wonderful with children. Someone on the second trimester forum said to try medical transcriptionist, typing doctors dictation. I used to work in a dr's office as a receptionist so that may be an option for me. I would just like to find some type of data entry thing that is legitimate, you never know who to trust on the internet.

Also Heather, my boss is a doctor and her husband is a lawyer, they would definitely beat me in a lawsuit.

boy that sucks gabby -well, if they fire you, can you claim unemployment until you find something? We recently refinances our home and the lender sent a notary to our house with the paperwork. She has been doing it for about 5 years and works when she wants. She gets in touch with mortgage companies and they put her in the database and call her when work comes up. Shea can pick and chose when she works. All she really does is make sure you sign everything and then she stamps the papers and mails them off. Ok, that's pretty simplified but...pretty easy work. I think it cost her a total of $500 to be a legal notary. Just an idea I've been thinking of. I work from home now doing bookkeeping but I started out before I was pregnant working for the company. When I was on maternity leave with my daughter they lost their office space and everyone went virtual. It's SO great. It's hard to become a medical transcriptionist too. I bought a car from a lady who does that but she said to make sure you to a good school to get the training.
