My question to everyone who's already had a child is...Is labor THAT bad and THAT painful like I hear??

nah, it's a piece of cake. Bring your gameboy. Even better, a laptop with a DVD drive in it, catch an adam sandler movie during delivery. :)

It was pretty bad for me. But I have asked around and I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that I was induced. So, my labor didn't gradually progress and I wasn't at home for any of it where I could walk around and try to be comfortable. I was hooked up to machines the whole time and I couldn't walk around or lay on my side because the machine wasn't picking up my babies heartbeat as well that way. I am very curious this time around to see if starting labor the natural way will be much better. I mean, I see women on t.v. going through labor like it is nothing. So I am really hoping. Plus things are just different for everybody. My mom said she was induced and it wasn't that bad for her. Everybody really is different I guess.

hey, is it my fault that I happened to've been born an outtie and not an innie? My wife is 8 and a half months along, and she said last night (for like the thousandth time) that she'd like to see me try and carry the baby. I said fine, I'd like to see you deal with someone who's mood can change on a minute by minute basis and you have to deal with and adjust to it, regardless of what rationale they give. Wait a sec, she already does. Scratch that.
