I am so happy for you that things worked out. I had read that thread a while ago - I'm glad it got bumped up again b/c now I read that your baby is OK. I can't even imagine what you went through. I'm so happy for you!!!

Why thaank you! lol! I actually was surprised at the thread re-appearing... it's a few weeks old, which on her is ancient news already. A woman, however, asked me a question about canadian medical practice, and in my opinion, the only thing worse, than an out-dated thread re-appearing, is a question on one, that goes unanswered! If I ever become famous (I'm trying!)_ I'm in for a hard time, because I'm the type of person that thinks one should respond personally to all fan mail! HA!

so, what exactly happened again? I didn't read the whole thread b/c it was kind of long. I totally understand if you don't wish to rehash it.

KH, It was awful! This is my 6th pregnancy, with only 1 child so far. I have lost 4. I was minding my own buisness, when the doc called to say that my Maternal Serum Alpha Fetoprotein test came back positive for down syndrom. In the same conversation, she told me that I could refuse any treatment at any time, and what I wanted to "do" with the pregnancy, depending on the outcome, was also my chioce. I was devastaed, as I wasn't expecting this!! I had to wait a whole week to gwt in for an u/s, where it was discovered that someone from my doc's office, had forgotten to send in my WHOLE medical file with the MSAFP test results. Had they sent everything, the center where they do the testing would've seen, that because I'm a high risk pregnancy, I had an u/s at 7 weeks. This put my MSAFP test 2 weeks too early... thus making all the difference in the world on my results! Whew!!! Baby and me are just fine, now, thank you, but it was a horrible week in my house and in my head for that time. I am now dedicated to telling women NOT to have such a test, when the results are less than accurate, MOST of the time!!! Useless stress!!
