I am 19 and 30 wks pregnant...just went to the doctor and found out that I weigh 150 lbs. Before being pregnant, I was tiny and weighed 112-115 lbs.....so ive already gained 35 lbs. I am really upset about this and my legs and butt are huge now and bumpy/cellulity. I actually gained 15 lbs in the last 3 weeks my doc said. (and yes, i do have high blood pressure but my doctor doesnt do anything about it). Does anyone think ive gained too much weight ? And just to think....i have more to gain in the next 2 months before delivery! PLEASE HELP :( Im upset.

Cut back on your food intake and start walking. I was tiny with my first pregnancy I weighted 100 lbs. and gained 50. It took forever to lose it all but I did. This time around I gained 35 and watched what I ate and did more physical activity. I only have a week to go so hopefully I won't gain any more. I think when you start off small you gain more weight.

I gained 50 pounds with my daughter, and it took me about a year or so to get it off. I gained that because I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and did not one ounce of exercise. BTW, I was also 19 when I got pregnant, and had my daughter when I was 20...anyways, cut back on the chips, cookies, startchy foods and start walking like Julie said. Good Luck.

You need to cut back on your food intake. Women gain so much weight in pregnancy because they eat too much, not because they're carrying a baby. If you watch yourself, you can gain around 30lbs in the pregnancy. At your point, you're obviously past that point, so from now on WATCH what you eat. You don't have to eat all the junk every day. And remember: you're not eating for two. In that third trimester you're eating for one plus a mere 300 extra calories.

with my first pregnancy i went from 145 lbs to 208 lbs and i did not over eat...i did not have high blood pressure or gestional diabetes...the doctors that i went to didn't even have a problem with my weight gain...i ended up having a 9 lb 10 oz baby girl who was happy and healthy...it took me almost 9 months to loose most of the weight...i am pregnant again and eating even less with this baby but i am 19 weeks along and have already gained 20 lbs...i have been more careful with what i eat this time around and its not making any difference...after talking to several family members they seem to think its hereditary...so enjoy your pregnancy and worry about the weight gain afterwords

Don't worry about it. Go on the Atkins protein diet once you finish b___st feeding (if you are) and it will melt off in no time. If you like steak, cheese, eggs and salads, you'll be laughing your way back to thinness. It worked for me. I didn't bother with diets like weight watchers. I lost all the wait in a month and a half.

Stay away from Atkins protein diets. They are not healthy a lot fat diet which includes good carbs will get you back into shape. My mom and mil were both on similar high protein low carb diets and did lose a ton of weight but gained it all back plus extra weight! My advice is well balanced meals and exercise. Lots of fruit, veggies, whole grains, and fish.

Before pregnancy, I weighed 135 lbs- after:210 lbs - I also gained a LOT. I ate too much and didn't do any exercise. I lost 40 pounds very quickly but I'm now struggling to lose the rest and it's been 3 months since I gave birth... Try to be careful with what you eat and yes, exercise. I know it is easier sais than done though....good luck :)

Do NOT cut back on your food intake. Eat NORMALLY. Dieting while pregnant is a HUGE no-no. Anyway, with that said - I'm 5 foot 3...before I got pregnant, I weighed 105 pounds. The day I delivered, I weighed 180 pounds. I was induced due to pre-eclampsia - 2 symptoms of which are high blood pressure and sudden weight gain! I have exclusively b___stfed - my daughter is now 2 months old, and I weigh an astounding 150...BUT, I actually look good, and healthy, for the first time in my life. By looking at me, you seriously could not tell I weigh what I do. I'm now just perfectly curvy. Still have a flat tummy, even! So, I'm not worried, even though technically I'm now overweight. So, since you have both sudden weight gain and high blood pressure, ask your doctor to perform a 24 hour urine test, to check for protein in your urine. Also, have your doctor check your platelets. You could have either HELLP Syndrome or pre-ecclampsia, both of which are VERY serious, and could result in mother or fetal death.
