Carpal Tunnel After Pregnancy

Hi, I'm now 8 wks. post pregnancy and am having horrible trouble with carpal tunnel. One gal I talked to said it's something like post-pregnancy carpal tunnel and can last 6-7 months! Has anyone else heard of that or have you had it? I use hand braces but it hasn't helped a whole lot. Please let me know of any information or help you can provide. Thank you!

Get a ma__sage with someone certified in Neuromuscular Therapy. As your b___sts and belly get bigger it pulls your body down and forward. Your pec muscles, as a result, contract and will stay that way some time after birth. This puts pressure on the brachial plexus nerve causing carpel tunnel pain. A series of ma__sages on your pec muscles will help relieve the pain. Good luck.

Did you have carpal tunnel during preganancy as well? I am experiencing terrible carpal tunnel and I am just going into my 8th month. At this point, it is the one symptom that is almost unbearable and the only reason I am looking forward to birth in hopes tha it will subside. Any feedback on this?

Hey Liz, I am still pregnant and just starting to feel this. I am a Neuromuscular ma__sage therapist and we studied this extensively in cla__s. Sometimes it will take months without intervention for your body to get back to normal. A series of ma__sages now will help relieve the pain. Good luck.
