hi all. im hoping to get some adivce. i am in college rigt now, so i don't have any doctor that i can really go to and get a blood test done. i called one place and they said i probably wont be able to get a blood test done without a GP. i am about 3 weeks late and im very concerned with whether or not in preg. i had a negative hpt three days ago. I spotted a couple weeks b4 my period was due and then for a couple days before it was due, but then it stopped and i never had anything since. only symptoms i really have is bloating and gas, and being tired, which i always am tired anyways so i cant really use that. i just came off of BCP in july and had a regular period in August. so thats my story, hopefully someone has gone through something similar and can give suggestions. Thanks. oh yeah, i have pcos.

Well, first I'd like to say that you should be able to get a blood test done at your university clinic, unless they don't have one. Another choice is Planned Parenthood, very affordable. Your symptoms are probably due to one of the three: discontinuation of birth control, pcos, or pregnancy. If you had a negative pregnancy test, and cannot arrange a blood test done, I suggest you wait another week and test again. But, there are a couple of other things that are probably causing your problems. Irregular periods are the symptom of pcos. Birth control regulates your cycles when you have pcos, but after you discontinue the pill, they get irregular again. I think that since you just stopped taking birth control that could be your problem, there is a probability of you having a regular period back in august due to the fact that your hormones haven't adjusted yet and still had hormones from the pill in your system, and now that some time has pa__sed and the hormones have probably washed out, there is nothing left to regulate your periods anymore and pcos is taking over. I've made extensive research on pcos, and it really sounds like that could be causing your symptoms. But I would still suggest you retest to make sure you aren't pregnant.

The Wal-Mart Equate brand is pretty cheap, about $3.50 or so per test, you can also try Dollar Store tests, seem to work fine for everyone.

i just took another test today.Dollar store brand. it was negative. so im pretty much just gonna a__sume that its has more to do with the darn PCOS. gotta love the female body! I tell ya! i mean it really has to be some kind of twisted joke that the symptoms for pregnancy and pcos mimic each other. and then they say that you shouldn't stress cause it makes things worse. its really all such a contradiction!!!lol, sorry for my little tangent, im better now. =)
