I went through with a D & E. It's basically the same procedure as a D & C. I prefer the D & E because I couldn't just 'wait' for something to happen and have to 'flush' it away. I just couldn't bring myself to do that. Also, because I was 8 weeks along, he felt it would be too painful to m/c on my own, so he insisted that I have the d and e. The best of luck to you and you'll be in my prayers.

i had my d&c last thurs, i actually went for my scan 2 weeks prior and they could not find a heartbeat, i couldnt bring myself at the time to have the d&c so they booked me in for another scan for 2 weeks time, i felt it was the best thing i could of done i felt in control of my own body even though the doctors wasnt happy about it but i didnt care, alot of people said they couldnt have done that and i was very brave but that was the only way i could deal with it, i feel alot better in myself now its all over, i just can understand what your going through just follow what your head and your heart says and dont listen to anyone else, thats the way they would do it not you.i wish you all the best

sorry i forgot to mention, the baby was 10 weeks when it died i havnt a clue how old it should have been. when i went for my scan 2 weeks later thier was still no signs of bleeding, when i had my d&c the same day later i had a huge clot come out and it must have been about 10cm i was devistated, i was glad in the end i had the d&c because i could not handle having seen any more of them clots
