Hello All, I am currently 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and saw and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time last week!! (The heartbeat was 175) I read somewhere that the statistics for having a miscarriage is reduced after seeing the heartbeat on the u/s. Is this true?

It depends on the week, but yes. A heartbeat detected before 9 weeks reduces the risk to 4-5%. Once the heartbeat is heard or seen after 9 weeks the risk drops to 1-2%

Yes, Kay101 is right, I read that someone too. I was so nervous about miscarriage. I rented a digital doppler heart monitor so I can listen to the heartbeat anytime. I rented it at about 10 weeks. I am 15 weeks now and I can find it in about 2 seconds. It's very rea__suring. I guess it's natural for us to never stop worrying! Good luck!
