Doing The Bd Every Day Vs Every Other Day

What is everyone's thought on doing the BD every day vs. every other? I've heard mixed things. Some say to do it every day b/c it doesn't make that much of a difference in sperm production. Anyone have any helpful info to share?

To me, I would say its would be OK everyother day if every day is to much for you. Sperm can live in your body up to 3 days!!!!!!

Every other day is fine. Some people even think that it decreases potency/amount doing it every day. But that's just a myth. But like Dawn said, sperm lives a while, so every other day would probably be sufficent.... especially if the every day thing wears you out. Best of luck!

Like the others said, I don't think it matters too much. We did it every day and got pregnant the first month, debunking the idea that there isn't enough sperm unless you do it every other day. That said, I'm sure every other day is just fine.

I just wanted to chime in again, and comment on Alycia's post. I, too, did it every day. So don't let anyone convince you that you HAVE to go every other day. If you want to go every day, hey, that can only increase your chances!! Plus it doubles the fun!! :o) But if every other day is your thing, that works, too.

OOH.. some UNTRUE info being pa__sed on here, I see! As a woman who fought infertility for years, I can say that OH YES it matters! In Roughly 70% of ALL infertile couples, Dad has something to do with the problem.... But men are seldomly the ones being tested, so most men don't even know tht their counts/quality could be low. Low sperm count, low motility, acrosomal abnormalities, etc are actually very common in men! YES, BD every OTHER day does make a BIG difference in sperm count. That does not mean that a couple doing it 10 times a day will NOT get pregnant, it just means that on time #2 and on each day, dad is providing several million less sperm each time. It only takes one. But no, it is NOT a myth that BD every other day will up your sperm count. My RE recommended that from the beginning, and this was before we had DH tested. She said that you have just as good of a chance with every other day as every day, and a higher chance if dad has mid to low counts.

Tiffany, here's a web page that backs up what Alycia and I are saying. I had my own bout with infertility/miscarriages, and YES mama-bear some tests were done on my hubby, too. So Tiff, here's you some info: . Happy reading! By the way, there are other sites that say this same thing, but I don't want to bombard you with a ton of addresses. :o)

Sorry, I meant to say mama-beans, not mama-bear.

Thank you so much! I'll check it out!

and just what is BD? Whole words please!

'bed dance' = s_x

Trish# - January 27

BD= "baby dance," or have s_x. I also am/was a fertility patient. DH was tested and was fine, I just have problems ovulating. Anyway, with the close monitoring I got, and a trigger shot to bring on ovulation, I knew exactly when I was going to ovulate. My RE said to BD every 24 hours for 3 days in a row. It worked for me! It also worked the only other time I was certain I ovulated (w/ the trigger shot), but that pg ended in a chemical. Note that sperm can live up to 3 days in your body. BUT, the more the merrier. At the end of the day, I really don't think there is THAT much difference in every day vs. every other. However I followed my doctor's orders, to BD every day for 3 days. Good luck!!

Tiffany814 - January 27

oops! sorry, guess I was wrong- well close enough-lol. I'm new to these forums too:)

Gem - January 27

They say every other day is enough as the sperm can survive for a few days anyway but unless your partner has a low sperm count doing it every day wouldn't hurt.

kimc - January 27

We had s_x every other day and I got pregnant the first month... I figured that the sperm can live up to 3 days, so I would have all my days covered. *grin* Best of luck!
