Flu Shots And Ttc Or Pregnant

Taking a poll here- my RE says ok to take flu shot. I called sick childrens motherrisk line for meds and pregnancy and they say its an inactive vaccine which means it is safe and would be fine to take while pregnant. They said some vaccines are called live virus vaccines and they want you to take 1 month before trying to conceive. The flu shot is not this one. What are you doing about it this season? I'm confused with personal feelings to my potential pregnancy and what my doc says. Any thoughts?

I have been lucky and never have gotten a flu shot because I never get much more than a cold or sore throat for a few days. I guess I can take it if that's all the worse it gets. Now that I am 10 weeks pregnant, my Dr. wants me to get a flu shot after my first trimester. I am afraid if I finally break down and get a flu shot after years of not getting one, that I will actually get the flu. Do you think it would be harmful if I didn't get a flu shot?

Inkycat, I am very nervous this year about not getting the flu shot. I've gotten it for about the last 5 years and never got the flu. I'm worried that this year they say its going to be a very bad year for the flue and I am scared that it could affect the pregnancy.

They say every year is going to be really bad for the flu; that's it's always worse then the year before. I think if you get sick easily then you should get it; I am personally not getting the shot myself.
