Food Stuck In Throat And Severe Heartburn Help

I'm nearly 37 weeks and for the past few weeks, I've felt like I have food stuck in my throat 24 hours a day and get daily heartburn. It's so uncomfortable, and gets even worse after eating. I feel like I can't swallow anything without problems. Even water! It makes me burp and feel sick all the time too and antacids don't work. Does anyone else feel this bad? Does anyone know if it goes away after the birth?

Yes, it should go away, mine did. Talk to your doctor to make sure, but I take zantac 75 when I need it. With my first pregnancy, I took it morning and night to keep it away. It really works, in my case tums did NOTHING. It's called acid refulx. Hope this helps.

Sorry Lissi!! Every ache and pain leaves the second the baby enters this world. Relief is around the corner, my dear. I can't wait to hear that you are in labor!! Please post and "i am in labor" thread, if you can.

Thanks Christy. E, I will definitely post when I'm in labor. Sorry to whine, since my problems are entirely insignificant compared to yours at the moment, but I'm going crazy here! :)

Sounds familiar Lissi. My wife had severe acid reflux and stomach pain.... even during labor (labour?). Hang in there, you're almost done.
