Help Asthma And Pregnancy

I am 8 weeks and 5 days along in my pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy (first was completely normal). After my pregnancy with my daughter, I developed severe asthma and allergies. When I found out I was pregnant this time, I went off all my meds (and told my ob). I have since developed a horrible sinus infection (that time of year) and my asthma is getting out of control. I talked to my ob, but she said to only use my albuterol inhaler during my first trimester. SO..for my question. Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice on this? Did you use any "regular" asthma inhalers during your first trimester? I am having frequent asthma attacks (2-5/week), cough ALL NIGHT LONG, and therefore am getting little to no sleep. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hi. I'm sorry about the trouble you are going through but I can feel for you and wish I could help you. But something is very odd. I used to be very healthy and had a trouble free pregnancy with my first child. After my son's birth I developed allergy to milk and now I'm in the early stages of developing the asthma. I am scared to get pregnant again. I do think that my pregnancy changed my body a lot. Makes me wonder if I had a second child what will be the new changes in my body after the second pregnancy? I hope everything will go well for you.

I have the same problem. If I wasn't on the meds i'm on I would be in the hospital! Here are some meds that are ok for pregnancy......... singulair and albuterol for athsma Zyrtec and Rinocourt for allergies. My Doc said its worse to NOT take anything cause you need to breathe for the baby to breathe. So use the reg inhailer and ask the doc about those meds thet really help!! Good luck
