How To Track Cycle

I feel very dumb asking this question due to the fact that I have three children alsready. However with those three children I did nothing. Just had s_x alot and it always happend within a month, maybe two. Well, we have been trying for three months to no prevail and I am thinking maybe I need to try to gigure out my cycles. Problem is, I don't know when to start counting. My current situation is that my period was due around the 23 this month. Since the 21 I have had very light spotting, really only enough to get on TP. Today however I finally stareted what I would say my period. Which was a couple days after I should have. My question is, when do I start counting my cycle days. The day I started spotting or today? Any ideas?

According to Fertility Friend you should start today, the day you have an actual flow, not when you are spotting. I'm not sure why but that is the way I did it. I think more importantly though is to watch for signs of ovulation, such as egg white cervical fluid, a high, soft, and open cervix and if you are charting your temps. and increase in body temp. You might be surprised to find out that you may be ovulating earlier or later than you think. I was fairly surprised to find out i was ovulating on cycle day 17 or 18 and not 14.

Thanks, I was thinking I am mostlikely ovulating a different time than I might be thinking. Unfortunatly I can't do temps because they never work well with me. I am an insomniac and I am up and down all night. I also have a 14 month old that does not give me the time to check it. WHen she wants up I better get up. Thanks again.
