Is Spotting After Sex Normal

I am about 4 1/2 weeks pregnant- I had an pap smear Tuesday and s_x Wednesday night. Today (Thursday) after I went to the bathroom, I had a dark pink mucus spotting after I wiped. I am not having any heavy cramps, just the occasional light cramp that every women has during the first trimester. Is this normal. I have a 7 year old and no problems with the pregnancy, but had 2 miscarrieges in 2003. This is my first time being pregnant since the miscarrieges and I am really scared. Can anyone give me any helpful answers if this spotting is normal.

I would call your dr. he knows your situtation. I know that is somewhat commom b/c i have read about it alot. So i don't want to say "don't worry about it". But at the same time I don't want you to think it is bad. Sorry i can't help you much. I have myself had that happen a few times and I'm on my 3rd child with no miscarriages. Good luck.

the doctor told me since i had spotting after having s_x that i should refrain from it fro the first 12 weeks not an easy task for me because i have a wonderful boyfriend and i want it all the time with this pregnancy

I'm not quite sure, but the same happened to me twice after s_x, except that i spot immedately after s_x. i went to the doc on Thursday and he said it was normal as long as theirs no heavy bleeding and servere cramps. he said its just that the cervix is a bit sensitive. so maybe try asking your partner to be more jentle and slow thats what we trying now. Hope this makes you feel better. i spotted twice, had mt ultrasound and everythings still OK. but if you worried maybe you should contact your doctor. i was just as worried because i also had a miscarriage, but my doc said its normal. hope this makes you feel better
