Low Placenta

Hi ladies, My doc tole me that I have a low placenta but really didn't make a big deal about it! He didn't tell me to refrain from anything, but do you think s_x would still be safe??? Wouldn't he of said something, I read that your suppose to avoid intercourse but that's with placentas that are close to the cervix and he said mine was just a little low.

s_x is fine unless your doctor FLAT OUT tells you not to. and as strange as it sounds, it may not be low for much longer. when the uterus grows it shifts the placenta around with it. my placenta is low and up front, but since i'm only about half way through my pregnancy it is nothing to worry about, there is still plenty of time for it to move.

yea, that's what he said, he's 98% sure it will rise with growth of the uterus and that appt. was a couple weeks ago! So I'm hoping everything goes well, I'm half way through as well!! I can't wait to meet her!! I wish Sept. was here!

Im due Sept. 3rd with a little boy and my placenta is really low too. Dr. said not to worry just yet. they are doing another U/S on June 20 to check and see if it has moved. They said around 28 weeks it should start moving up as the baby moves. GOOD LUCK everyone!

I also have a low lying pacenta which at my 22 week scan was touching the edge of my cervix. My sister is also pregnant and has this. I have not been told to do anything differently (I am in UK) but to go straight to the hospital if I start bleeding. I am being re-scanned at 36 weeks to see if it has moved.

I had a low-lying placenta as well. It wasn't a problem at all for me but if you do start to bleed you have to go to the hospital right away. My placenta did move out of the way but I still ended up having a c-section because she was transverse-breech (sideways). I had s_x until about 33-34 weeks and then my bf got too nervous. lol
