Hi ladies, I am 9 weeks pregnant and miserably sick. I don't throw up, but I do have diarrhea and "all day, all night" sickness. I have heard sucking on lemons can help. Anyone have any suggestions? I would really, really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

hi there i really feel for you i know how terrible you feel i couldnt find anything that helped me no matter what i tried nothing helped the doc prescribed me some meds and i threw them up as soon as they hit my stomach. i have heard that ginger flavored things help. saltine crackers is all i could handle and they seemed to soothe my stomach i hope that helps you..

I ALSO HAVE A QUESTION I HAD TO POST IT HERE B/C MY COMPUTER WANT LET ME DO IT THE OTHER WAY. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING AWFUL RIB PAIN I NEVER HAD IT LIKE THIS WITH MY 1 PREGNANCY AND ITS ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE AND ALL THE WAY AROUND MY BACK. ANYWAYS THE WEIRD PART IS THAT MY STOMACH ON THE LEFT SIDE AT THE TOP IS SO HORRIBLY SORE AND IT HURTS TO THE TOUCH. MY HUSBAND HUGGED ME THE OTHER DAY AND HIS HAND BARELY CARESSES MY BELLY AND IT HURT REALLY BAD. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS FELT THIS.

Cat--I've heard that lolly-pops really help. (A lot of women swear by them.) Also, sometimes flavored water works. (With juice crystals) I hope that helps! Feel better soon! (And congratulations on your little one!)

I heard that peppermint and ginger are good cures. I was reading a pregnancy magazine yesterday, and it recommended drinking the water that's left from rice after you've cooked it. It sounds revolting to me and the last thing I'd want to do if I were feeling sick, but if you're desperate, give it a try and let us know if it works.

Nelly, that sounds awful. Sometimes kidney stones or infection can feel that way. The pain is usually right near the bottom of the ribs in the back and the pain can wrap around as well. If the stone moves the pain will follow the path that it takes while moving. It is sharp sudden pains that come and go and also some dull really aching pain that stays as the sharp pains come and go. I had this three times along with kidney infection. It is excrutiating pain to the point I had to break down and go to the ER. You need to get a urine test to at least rule that possibility out. There are other things that can be going on as well, too many to list. That area is where the kidney, stomach, pancreas, and the spleen are, and not to mention your bowels. If you go to the doctor they would need to look at several diffirent possibilities and should rule out the most obvious to the most dangerous before just not treating it at all. One more thing, sometimes if you are far along enough in your pregnancy, the fetus can get into a weird position and can cause intense pain. Hope this helps.

Cat - i feel for you too. i'm going on baby #3, and have suffered morning, noon, and night sickness with all of them. it's terrible! i didn't throw up either, just lay on the sofa or in bed 24-7, and i don't know which is better! these ladies have all given great advice - anything citrusy is good, bland is also good - saltines/soda crackers with nothing on top, lots of water....what helped me this time around was a drink (taken while resting leisurely....) that was lots of ice in a gla__s, half apple juice, half carbonated water, mixed then garnished with a slice of ginger and a slice of lemon. it was so refreshing, and calmed my stomach every time. i'm due june 26th....can't wait to meet my little munchkin!
